Biography

Alonso is the President of REDNACECYT; a national association integrated for all Ministers, Councils and Institutes of the 32 state level government agencies responsible for the promotion of science, technology and innovation in Mexico. Also, Alonso is Director General of the Council of Science, Technology and Innovation in Hidalgo State (CITNOVA), the public agency responsible to promote knowledge-based development in Hidalgo and coordinate all the state public policies to consolidate a knowledge economy.

In addition of being President of RENACECYT, and Director General of CITNOVA, Alonso currently is Vice-president of the Mexican Association of Executives of Applied Research and Technological Development (ADIAT).

Alonso has a Master in Economic and Financial Engineering, a Master in Business Administration, a Master in Public Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

His major professional experience has been focused in the design and execution of public policies in innovation, economic development, entrepreneurship and competitiveness.
