Biography

Madeline St. John is a Program Associate at the Pan American Development Foundation, based out of the Washington, DC office. At PADF, she supports program management and new business development for programs in Haiti and The Caribbean. With the Economic Opportunities team, she researches constraints and opportunities for private sector engagement and analyzed macroeconomic data and key economic sectors to represent socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 throughout Latin America and The Caribbean. Previous research topics have included development finance institutions’ funding priorities, innovative financing models, and impact investing. Her research has contributed to PADF’s business development and diversification strategy. She currently co-manages a circular economy project in Haiti financed through a blended finance structure and supports the implementation of other private sector engagement programs, such as the USAID-funded Small Grants Facility. She holds a BA from Goucher College, where she completed the International Scholars program.

I am interested in partnerships to increase investment in small- and medium-sized enterprises (particularly women- and/or migrant-owned) in the hemisphere that are contributing to sustainable development, opportunities to support future knowledge exchanges and collaboration between private sector and development actors – particularly as it relates to the Blue and Green Economy, and partnerships to provide technical services to improve business resiliency, particularly in The Caribbean.
