Red de Consejeros Comerciales is a new program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, and its main goal is to promote Guatemala as a Business Destination, it has presence in 20 cities around the world. I am based in New York City, and I give support to stakeholders (buyers, investors, wholesale tour operators and travel agencies). We map their needs and offer solutions to their demands offering export products, soft landing to invest in Guatemala and all the advisory services needed in terms of market research, legal advisor, and to promote our tourism destination. All these efforts are done following the Official Plan to generate new jobs and economic growth. We also represent Guatemala in International Trade Fairs, Investment Events, Missions, and others related to the country brand. I have experience of 15 years of working in the field of the International Trade, Investment, and Country Brand. Academically, I have a Magister’s Degree in International Marketing, a Postgraduate in Marketing, Project Manager Diploma, Investment and Trade diploma given by the BID, Logistic Diploma given by OEA, others.
I had the experience of being Senior Advisor of the Country Brand Strategy, and being the official representative in the Latin American Country Brand Council. I was also in charge of the Softlanding Investment in Invest In Guatemala and the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala. Right now, I’m New York’s trade and investment market specialist, and one of the biggest characteristics about it is that New York is the center of the financial, business, and media sectors. I also have been working with the national economy and business ecosystem in Guatemala, and I think it could be interesting because of the multiple strategies created in which I was involved. Also because of the strategy and how it works not only within the Government but also in the Private Sector.
