Biography

Jorge Gorozpe is the Director of Energy Development at the State Government of Nuevo León. Jorge has an International Business Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Monterrey, graduated with Distinction in Excellence.He currently works at the Energy Development Department, where his experience lies not only in setting the stage for current and new energy projects, but also in boosting the State’s energy sector through generation of strategic information; linking and following up businesses within the energy efficiency field and conventional and clean electric power generation.

Within his strategy this year is the incorporation of better practices for the efficient use of energy and the search for incentives to encourage the energy sector development through the involvement with both national and international stakeholders.

In his earlier career, Jorge has operated in the private and public sector. His career includes Account Manager at Shanghai Center of Sustainability and Commercial Development Representative at Epicor Software Company. And in 2015, he joined the public sector as Foreign Investment Coordinator in the Asia-Pacific region at the Secretariat of Economy and Labour.

Jorge is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Finance with Specialization in Energy Management from the EGADE Business School Monterrey, and already has an MBA in Renewable Energy from the Green Power Academy. He is also certified in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment in Energy projects by the University of Nuevo León.
