Dr. Leroy George Almendarez is currently the Executive Director of the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), where he has responsibility for entrepreneurial development within the country, as well as export and investment promotion. He has served as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences (FMSS) of the University of Belize, as Director General for Foreign Trade & Director of Tariffs & Administration, at the Public Utilities Commission. For over six years, he served as a visiting Professor at the Public Utility Research Center (PURC) of the Warrington College of Business of the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Presently, through his role as Executive Director, he presently serves as Belize President Pro Tempore of CENPROMYPE which deals with entrepreneurial development within Central America; Deputy Chair of the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) and 2nd Vice President of the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA). He holds a MBA from the University of the West Indies and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA.
