Biography
Dr. Bastian Alm, Head of Division Regional Economic and Structural Policy, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Dr. Alm focuses on reforming regional economic and structural policy measures to enable transformation and support local employment and growth. Previous jobs: Economic Counselor, German Embassy Washington D.C.; Deputy Head for Economic Policy, Economic Development and Special Task Federal Chancellery Berlin; Deputy Head for Public Finance, Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Berlin Academic achievements: Earned doctorate in 2012, published 15+ research papers in economic development, trade, impact analysis. Research visits at UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Institute for Employment Research (IAB).
Reasons to join the program
I am interested in joining the ACE Seattle program as I would appreciate to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the fields of economic development (policy), trade and innovation with the other participants. Also, ACE could be a good opportunity to identify experts for an international Conference ‘Shaping Regional Transformation’ that the Ministry for Econimic Affairs and Climate Action host in September 2023.
