Sofia Potes is the Research and Public Policy Manager at the U.S. – Mexico Foundation. She leads research in issues such as ally-shoring, migration, the bilateral relationship and a think tank strategy, among others. She is part of the team leading the North Capital Forum and Convocation. She previously worked in the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Ministry of Social Development. She also worked at the United Nations Development Program on a youth empowerment through entrepreneurship program. Sofia has collaborated in municipal governments, civil society organizations and international organizations focused mainly in human rights and social protection. She’s the Co-Founder of Incubadora Miticas in Mexico, an organization that strengthens women’s skills and networks to increase their participation in decision making positions. She holds a master’s degree of Public Policy from the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, along with studies of human rights and international relations.
