Biography
Mr. Jorge Ocampo Sánchez, Executive President, Instituto de Fomento y Asesoría Municipal, IFAM. IFAM is responsible for regional development in Costa Rica, as the highest authority of the only institution oriented to support the 90 local governments of the country, through training, technical assistance and financing I have political representation, as well as the responsibility of promote continuous improvement and increase public value to citizens. In the past I was Mayor of one of the main cities of the country (Alajuela). My profession is lawyer.

The Institute for Municipal Development and Advice (Instituto de Fomento y Asesoría Municipal, IFAM) greets you cordially and takes this opportunity to refer to our interest in formalizing the intention of exploring possible collaborations that may be established between our organization and different actors. IFAM’s purpose is to contribute to the improvement of the Municipal Regime through the provision of technical assistance, financing, and training services, this directed to the 91 local governments of Costa Rica, for this reason, the government of Costa Rica through our organization has committed to strengthening the capacities of local governments. In this context, the scope of the possible collaborations that arise will focus mainly on the Identifying and sharing best practices; Promoting economic resiliency; sustainable competitiveness models; and new technologies.
