Argentina will host the XI Americas Competitiveness Forum
Ministers, High-Level Authorities, Councils and Leaders on Competitiveness will gather in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to attend the XI Americas Competitiveness Forum (XI ACF) and the Meeting of the Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC). In this opportunity, the theme will be “Digital Transformation to Promote Competitiveness in the Americas” and will promote in-depth discussions to overcome shared challenges regarding digitalization and foster the economic integration throughout the region.
This high-level event offers a unique opportunity to continue strengthening a constructive and open dialogue between governments, the private sector, and academia to advance the digital economy and establish the region’s global leadership. The productive agenda has been tailored for top leaders on competitiveness to reach concrete results at regional and bilateral levels.
Interactive panels will take place in the morning to address pressing issues related to the digital transformation, such as SMEs digitalization, regulatory frameworks that foster the digital economy, the fourth industrial revolution, and academic skills for the labor market in the digital era. In the afternoon, RIAC Members will have the opportunity to learn about the results obtained during the last couple of years under the Chairmanship of the Government of Argentina, work towards a RIAC Action Plan for next two years, and exchange good practices on the digital economy to accelerate and strengthen collaboration between leader institutions in the region.
The XI ACF is convened by the Government of Argentina, through its Ministry of Production and Labor, as Chair Pro Tempore of RIAC (September 2017-2019); and the Organization of American States (OAS) as the Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC) Technical Secretariat.
