Since assuming the role as Executive Director in June 2019, Misha has been playing a key role in the implementation of the Chamber’s strategic mandate and has been successfully leading the process of organizational change and repositioning the Chamber as a more visible and engaged organization. Misha is a seasoned Management Executive with approximately twenty years’ experience driving strategic organizational transformation, effective corporate governance, and strategic partnerships across diverse sectors. Her experience spans working with all sectors: public, private, civil society organisations and international development institutions. The Barbados Chamber promotes the diverse interests of the business community in Barbados through advocacy and representation, and trade facilitation. A key priority of the BCCI is to ensure that a robust and enabling business ecosystem exists in Barbados through its advocacy and representation on the cost and ease of doing business and policy development. Specific priority is on SMEs which make up approximately 75% of the Chamber’s membership given the critical role that SMEs play in supporting the growth of the economies of the Caribbean and the Americas. Among the key areas of focus for the BCCI are: 1. Capacity Building Support Environmentally Sustainable for Businesses 2. Business Recovery and building resilience support for SMEs 3. Climate Change/UN SDGs Advocacy 4. Regional/Extra-Regional Partnerships & Business Support A professional with a keen interest in promoting strong corporate governance practices within organisations, she is a member of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) and has presented at conferences and training events hosted by CCGI. Misha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of West Indies (Mona).
