
Barrett Andrea, Lecturer, University of Technology, Jamaica Dr. Andrea Barrett is an innovation technology and development specialist with significant expertise in technology development and management, project management and the promotion of international development through innovation within developing countries. Dr. Barrett has over thirty-five (35) years professional experience working regionally and internationally in organizations such as MDAs in Jamaica, CXC, IADB and USAID to name a few. Substantively, she lectures in the College of Business Management; University of Technology, in innovation management, project management and entrepreneurship. Her research interest includes innovation management and public policy to promote e-governance within emerging and developing economies. She researches, publishes and is speaker at several international conferences in the thematic area of science, technology and innovation (STI) in peer-reviewed Journals and recently authored the published the book Innovation Policy: Formulation and Implementation for the Socioeconomic Transformation of Developing States. Her academic career includes a Doctor of Management in Innovation Technology Management from the University of Maryland, Global Campus where her primary research focused on the application of emerging innovative technologies in building innovation capacity, social change and economic growth within developing nations. She also attained a Master of Science in Technology and Systems Management from the University of London, London School of Economics and Political Science; and an Executive Masters in Business Administration with emphasis in international finance and technology management from the University of the West Indies (Mona). She is a certified project manager and a risk/return on investment (ROI) professional.
