Jean-Paul Cumberbatch Manager R&D, Invest Barbados Invest Barbados (IB) is the investment promotion agency of the Barbados Government, responsible for attracting FDI in the form of capital, knowledge, and expertise. I am responsible for among other things, conducting research relevant to the policies, programmes and activities that guide the organisation’s decision-making process relative to investment promotion and development of the global business sector in Barbados. Prior to this appointment I was the Senior Business Development Advisor, IB’ London Office, with the responsibility for the management of that office, and held this position for six and a half years. Prior to this appointment, I worked with the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation’s (BIDC), Barbados Office as a Research Officer and was transferred to the post of Business Development Officer in BIDC’s New York Office where I also spent six and a half years. I hold a bachelors in economics from the University of the West Indies.
